We are GROWING!  As many of you know, we have some pretty amazing horses here that work hard to ensure that our riders with different abilities are able to come out and work on their goals in the safest, most effective way possible.

We have been taking a good look at our herd, and have decided that we would like to add a few more to the HORSEPOWER Family.

What We Need:

  • Health/Soundness: Horses must be sound at the walk, trot, and canter with no history of chronic or serious lameness. Vaccinations, Parasite Control & Coggins must be up-to-date.

  • Size: Between 14.2 and 17 hands

  • Behavioral:  Must not buck, kick, rear, bolt, spook or exhibit any other behaviors under saddle or in-hand that might endanger a rider/handler.

  • Herd Compatibility:  Must be comfortable turned out in small groups and not difficult to catch.

  • Age: Between 8 and 17 years old

The "Great" Horse Search!

Exceptional Horses Give Exceptional Gifts!

Therapeutic horses must be tolerant of unusual sights and sounds, unbalanced riders, games, toys, ambulatory aids (walkers, wheelchairs, etc). Our ideal candidates do not necessarily need prior exposure to all these things, but they must be as “bomb proof” as possible.

In addition, they must tolerate many different types of riders and handlers. If your horse meets these guidelines, you will be asked to fill out a more detailed questionnaire and release vet records to us for review.

We appreciate your interest and support of our program!
