Jan
is the founder and Executive Director of HORSEPOWER. Jan owned
and operated an accounting practice in Dallas, Texas for fifteen years
as well as a horse boarding facility for five years. Jan is a level
two certified riding instructor by the Association for Horsemanship
Safety and Education and a Registered Riding Instructor by PATH Intl. |

Tim joined HORSEPOWER as a volunteer in 1999 and joined the staff full-time in July of 2002; He is retired from Guilford County schools where he was a teacher, coach, and principal. His last 14 years were served as the principal of McIver Education Center where he worked with students with special needs ages 3 to 22. Tim was born and raised in Pennsylvania; received his BS from Appalachian State University and his masters at North Carolina A&T State University. He has two sons Chris and Josh; 2 step-children Mady and Scott and 6 grandchildren. |

Jess
joined HORSEPOWER in January 2008 as the volunteer coordinator.
She is a graduate from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro,
with a Bachelor of Environmental Science in Human Development and
Family Studies. She started a three hundred hour internship with HORSEPOWER in May 2007 and completed it in October of 2007. Jess, her boyfriend Colt, their son Lane and dog Ellie live in Stokesdale. She is a PATH Intl. registered instructor |

Emily first joined HORSEPOWER in 1994 as a volunteer.
She graduated from East Carolina University after studying recreational
therapy and sign language. In 2003 she was volunteer coordinator for
HORSEPOWER, but returned to a volunteer position when she wanted
to devote more time to starting a family. In 2009 she became a PATH Intl. registered
instructor and the director of student services. She lives in Colfax with her husband and two young children. |

Jean joined HORSEPOWER in August 2008 as a volunteer.
Her love for children and horses made it a perfect fit for her. She
was a flight attendant with Piedmont and USAIRWAYS for over 20 years
and a graduate of Johnson & Wales Culinary School in Charleston,
S.C. She is currently a business owner with her husband Eric and a
mother of two children, Haley and Walker. They have a dog named Harley.

Chris joined HORSEPOWER in 1996. She became a PATH Intl. registered Instructor in 2001. Chris was awarded the State of NC
Governors Certificate of Appreciation in 1998, she was nominated as
NARHA's Volunteer of the year in the southeast region, and the
Received the NC award for Outstanding Volunteer Service in 2004. Chris
is a member of HORSEPOWER's Board of Directors. She
lives in Greensboro with her husband of 35 years. They have one grown
son. |
| Marin Stanfield, Instructor |

While studying at Purdue University, Marin volunteered for the school's therapeutic riding program. After graduating with a degree in psychology, she focused on improving her horsemanship and riding skills while working on a dressage training/sport-horse breeding farm. She spent the next several years training her own horse and schooling horses for others. When she and her family relocated from upstate SC to the Greensboro area, she felt a strong interest in pursuing a career that combined her love of horses and working with people, and began volunteering for Horsepower in January 2012. Marin, along with her husband James, son James, dog Indi, and Connemara pony Finnegan live in Oak Ridge. She is a PATH Intl. registered instructor. |

Madison is a recent graduate from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she studied Therapeutic Recreation with a minor in American Sign Language. Madison has been riding, jumping, and showing horses since the age of six and has a great passion for the sport. She joined Horsepower as a volunteer in 2010, completed a 300 hour Internship, and is now a PATH Intl. registered instructor. Madison lives in Greensboro with her dog, Montana. |
