Attention all cowboys: “Pardner Up!” HORSEPOWER’s 10th Annual Gala to be held in High Point
COLFAX, NC – HORSEPOWER, a therapeutic riding center in Colfax, will host its 10th annual Gala & Silent Auction Saturday, February 11, 2006 from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. at Center Point, 401 S. Hamilton, High Point. This yearly event is the center’s largest fundraiser; proceeds from the auction will provide reduced fees and scholarships for the nearly 100 children and adults with disabilities who participate in the program each week.
This year HORSEPOWER’s event features the theme, “Make a difference, Pardner Up!” Examples of auction items will range “from denim to diamonds,” including furniture, sculptures and art, household items and gift certificates for goods and services. The ticket price is $40 per person for early registration and $50 at the door. The admission fee includes entry to the event, appetizers, drinks and musical entertainment. HORSEPOWER Therapeutic Learning Center is a premiere accredited center of the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA.) The center provides therapeutic horseback riding for children and adults ages three and up with a wide range of disabilities. HORSEPOWER has thirteen therapy horses and requires nearly 200 volunteers per week to keep the program running. The center is located on the grounds of the Piedmont Saddle Club, four miles north of the PTI airport on Highway 68.
