HORSEPOWER announces 9th Annual Gala/Silent Auction to be held in High Point

COLFAX, NC (DECEMBER 9, 2004) – HORSEPOWER, a therapeutic riding center in Colfax, will host its 9th annual Gala/Silent Auction Saturday, February 5, 2005 from 6:30 p.m. – 10 p.m. at Center Point in High Point. This yearly event is the center’s largest fundraiser; proceeds from the auction will provide reduced fees and scholarships for the 75-100 children and adults with disabilities who participate in the program each week.

HORSEPOWER’s auction will feature many items of varying prices including furniture, sculptures and art, household items and gift certificates for goods and services. The ticket price is $35 per person and includes admission to the event, appetizers, drinks and musical entertainment. This year’s theme is Winter Wonderland and the event is cocktail attire. HORSEPOWER Therapeutic Learning Center is a premiere accredited center of the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA.) The center provides therapeutic horseback riding for children and adults ages three and up with a wide range of disabilities. HORSEPOWER has eight therapy horses and requires over 150 volunteers per week to keep the program running. The center is located on the grounds of the Piedmont Saddle Club, four miles north of the PTI airport on Highway 68.
